SLOSH BOX

TRIPLE SLOSH BOX

SLOSH BOX - TRIPLE SLOSH BOX FOR DISINTEGRATION TEST FOLLOWING FG502 FROM EDANA/INDA GUIDELINES (2018)

ADVANTAGES - HIGHLIGHTS

The slosh box apparatus is designed especially to proceed with disintegration tests as per FG502guidelines, providing mechanical agitation in water or wastewater.

The purpose of this test is to assess the potential for a product to disintegrate when it is subjected to mechanical agitation in water or wastewater (optional).

This test is used to demonstrate a product’s potential to disintegrate when subject to mechanical agitation in water or wastewater.

Products that exhibit negligible disintegration tend to retain their strength and remain fully intact after flushing, thereby increasing their potential to contribute to the clogging of drainlines, sewer pumps and conveyance systems.

CTP, Grenoble, France is one of the independent

laboratories that are able to conduct these tests,

according to EDANA/INDA guidelines.

Easy Use of the Equipment following EDANA/INDA guidelines

The slosh box test is easy to perform when following the EDANA/INDA FG502 guidelines : the result is the percentage of the initial dry mass passing through the 12.5mm perforated plate sieve after 3 hours (60 min cf GD4).

To be acceptableThe percent of the starting dry mass passing through the 12.5 mm perforated plate sieve after 60 minutes must be greater than 60% for at least 80% of the individual replicates tested.

Caracteristics

  • Size is 103x55x50 cm ( 400x220x200 inches )
  • Powe Supply 220v or 110v ( on request )
  • Power 1kW/h Max

The Device

The slosh box consists of an oscillating box containing 2.0 liters of tap water or wastewater, in which a single article (e.g. individual hygienic wipe ) is incubated.

The triple slosh box test apparatus includes a set of 3 plastic boxes oscillated (i.e. rocked forward and backward) by a rotating cam and lever nmechanism at 26 rpm.

The speed of the cam is adjustable using a controller to attain 26 rpm.

Each of the box is equipped with a clear plastic lid to control any splashing and allow observation of test articles during the test.
