MORFI NEO HR — High Resolution Module
MORFI NEO HR is an optional high-resolution optical module designed to extend the capabilities of the MORFI NEO fiber morphology analyzer.
Mounted as a separate hardware unit and fully controlled by the MorFi software, it delivers true optical measurement of fiber wall thickness and advanced high-definition imaging for in-depth pulp analysis.
Hardware Extension for MORFI NEO
- Mounted on the backside as an independent module.
- Fully integrated and controlled through MorFi Software.
- Equipped with a high-resolution camera:
- Optical resolution down to 0.5 µm.
- MorFi HR software can operate stand-alone or seamlessly within the MorFi Neo interface.
Applications
- True optical fiber wall-thickness measurement — typically ranging from 3 to 9 µm, depending on wood species used in pulp production.
- Hydroseg Index – exclusive CTP (Centre Technique du Papier) index for evaluating the fractionation of fibers by hydrocyclone.
- Microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) behavior – determination of flocculation index and dispersion characteristics.
Measurement Capabilities
- Wall thickness distribution (10 classes).
- Wall thickness average and standard deviation.
- Fiber width average and standard deviation.
- Hydroseg Index for fiber fractionation.
- Full integration of HR measurements into the standard MORFI NEO morphology results.
Analysis Duration
- Uses the standard MorFi fiber cycle for data acquisition and integration.
In Summary
The MORFI NEO HR module brings microscopic precision to fiber morphology analysis, combining sub-micron optical resolution with automated data integration in the MORFI environment.
It provides laboratories and R&D centers with a new level of structural detail — from fiber wall thickness to MFC flocculation — for deeper understanding and control of pulp characteristics.
